Caribbean’s Number One Destination
With a palm-fringed beach for every day of the year, it’s crystal-clear to see why Antigua is the Caribbean’s number one destination. Turquoise, clear waters, 5-star luxury hotels and a pretty perfect, year-round climate, need we go on…?
A Destination For Everyone
Antigua is more than just a honeymoon destination, it’s where dreams come true. Yes, it’s the number one choice for all you romantics but it’s also for all those sun worshippers, sailors and scuba divers too. It’s for the young and the old, the well-travelled and those who haven’t yet ventured this far, the inactive and the adventurous.
The Charming Capital of St John
If you’re looking to soak up not only some sun but the traditional laid-back lifestyle, Antigua eats, sleeps and breathes this Caribbean culture. From the charming capital of St John to the charismatic English Harbour, there is an air of a colonial past but this tiny island is quintessentially Caribbean.
Watersports are a big hit in Antigua. Due to the balmy breeze, sailing is very popular. So much so there is a week dedicated to sailing where sailors flock to the south of the island to compete in a series of races. The crystal clear waters are warm year-round so snorkelling and scuba diving are popular too.
We can’t talk about sport and not mention this country’s love for cricket. Antigua is cricket crazy. The West Indies’ cricket ground is located in St Johns and Sir Viv Richards, one of the crickets all-time greats, lives in Antigua.
Shirley Heights is a popular tourist attraction in Antigua. The restored military lookout offers some spectacular views over English Harbour and, on a good day, you can see Montserrat and Guadeloupe. The former guardhouse at the top of the hill now hosts a restaurant and bar, if you happen to be around on a Sunday you will find yourself at their famous barbecue party with live reggae bands.
Range of Resorts
The most difficult decision you might face when looking for a luxury escape to Antigua is which resort to chose. The hotels are simply stunning, most are all-inclusive and a lot of them have adopted traditional colonial decor. Think swim-up bars, cabana beds and private beaches and you can’t go far wrong. Give us a ring and we’ll soon get you excited about a holiday here.
