Indian Ocean

Described as ‘heaven on earth’, Mauritius truly is an island paradise. From the tropical waters to the untouched coral, the finest white sand to the lush green mountains. Mauritius offers something for everybody. Luxury 5-star resorts allow for a sleepy relaxed break whilst the mountainous terrain and national parks offer exploration. This multicultural country will open your eyes to an unexpected diverse way of life. Indian, African, Chinese and European influences are sewn throughout the island.

Being so diverse, choosing where to stay in Mauritius can be a difficult decision. We’re here to help make that decision easier. Whether you want nothing more than white sand and a sun lounger or a little culture, we have something for every guest.

The North Coast is the most developed part of Mauritius. After a day of pure relaxation, you might feel the need to venture out. The north of the island allows just that, an abundance of bars, restaurants, nightclubs and duty-free shopping; will soon wear you out, ready for another sleepy day on the beach. Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel is a gorgeous, adult-only resort. Nestled in its own private cove, this resort offers seclusion as well as excitement from water sports, excursions and dining experiences, you can choose to do as little or as much as you want.

The East Coast is the quieter and more exclusive coast of Mauritius. A honeymooners haven, here you will find the most luxurious resorts. Lined with sleepy fishing villages, you’ll find it hard not to relax here. The winds are known to be higher which help bring down the temperature and also make it great for watersports such as kite-surfing. The LUX* Belle Mare is an all-suites resort with chic interiors, fragrant gardens and butler service. It’s the perfect romantic getaway.

The South of the island is unlike any other part of Mauritius. The coastline is a little more rugged, still offering idyllic beaches but dotted with high cliffs. Head inland and you can discover the waterfalls of Black River Gorges National Park. A stay at Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort will put you in the heart of the South Coast. Beautiful beaches, snorkelling from the shore, a spa and intimate dining experiences. Need we go on!

Home to the countries capital, Port Louis, the West Coast is a popular choice. With some of the world’s finest beaches, snorkelling from the shore and the bustling streets of local towns, the West has it all. Enjoy breathtaking sunsets, explore colourful markets and sample local cuisine. Sands Suites Resort & Spa is a luxurious resort overlooking the tropical blue lagoons of the Indian Ocean. Complimentary water sports and homemade rum are enough to seal the deal for us.

If it’s the relaxation you’re seeking, a trip to the Maldives promises pure relaxation. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the Indian Ocean are found in Mauritius so pick your spot and kick back for some true R&R and if you get a little stiff, snorkelling is superb straight from the beach.

Mauritius is renowned for its world-class service, so if you want a 5-star pampering session, there is an abundance of luxury spas awaiting your visit.

If however, you want to delve a little deeper into the culture of this extraordinary country you can spend your days visiting breathtaking Hindu temples, sugar plantations and wandering the quaint fishing villages. Or for those after a little more adventure why not hike in the Black River Gorges National Park.

Food and Drink

The food here is unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. The ‘melting pot’ of cultures come together to produce the most tantalizing dishes. From freshly caught fish on a beach bbq to French-inspired à la carte restaurants.

The street food is very popular with Indian and Asian influences. Try the Dhal Puri, a delicious flatbread filled with yellow lentils, it’s a staple across Mauritius. Fill the puris with curry and chutney to really experience the food like the locals. Once you’ve enjoyed a few of the local Phoenix beers, why not sample some of the local rum.
