Fancy heading into the Wild West? We don’t blame you! What is more enticing than rodeos and tex-mex fiestas? Add to that a staggering vast wilderness and fancy cities with space stations and it’s easy to see why Texas, USA, is an absolute hit for holidaymakers.
Questor Travel is passionate about making your holiday personal. If you want to head straight to Houston to check out the Space Station, we’ll help you get there. If you’re a fan of the Wild West, then we’ll find the perfect place to stay in Stockyards so you can really experience the Western heritage. Whatever it is that draws you to Texas, whoever you’re travelling with, we’ll help plan the perfect break.
With over 600 miles of coastline, the beaches in Texas are a popular choice for both locals and tourists. The Texas barrier islands lie in the Gulf Coast protecting the mainland shores. Padre Island is the largest and most popular, especially if you want to enjoy some of the Texas wildlife. Bird-watching is popular and don’t be surprised if you see bottlenose dolphins playing in the surf. Sea turtles are also common here. Add a romantic touch to your holiday with a horse ride along the shore at sunset.
If you fancy a bit of glitz and glamour Texas’ cities will not disappoint. Houston and Dallas are our top picks. They are full of culture yet are bustling, cosmopolitan cities that excite from the moment you arrive.
Houston is, of course, known for the NASA Space Centre, so if you’ve ever dreamt of being an astronaut, a day here will be out of this world! Great for adults and children, the interactive exhibits explain historic, present and future missions and tram tours will take you to Mission Control, Astronaut Training Facility and Rocket Park. The city as a whole is full of pride and the 18 cultural institutions in the museum district will tell all.
If you want to get off the beaten track, we recommend Big Bend National Park. Choose from one of the many hiking trails; along the Rio Grande river, through the Chihuahuan Desert and the Chisos mountains. This place is huge, but it really is special!
If it’s the Wild West you’re after, we’ll whisk you straight to Stockyards in Fort Worth. Despite the number of visiting tourists, this town retains an authenticity of its own. Ranches and rodeos set the scene and you’ll soon be feasting on authentic cuisine in one of the local saloons.
