The beautiful village-style resort of Verandah is situated within lush surroundings, giving it a laid-back feel. One of the stunning beaches is dedicated to non-motorized watersports and the sparkling waters of the protected cove are perfect for snorkelling and kayaking. Back in the resort, there is plenty to enjoy from land-based sports such as volleyball, explore the gardens within the mini-golf where you will find waterfalls and tropical flowers, or just simply find a quiet spot, and sit back and relax. The resort boasts Antigua’s largest freeform freshwater swimming pool as well as an adults-only pool and an infinity pool sun deck on Rasta Beach.
You have an array of choices of restaurants on the resort, The Seabreeze and the Buccaneer. Both restaurants are casual and family-friendly serving delicious foods from around the world with à la carte and themed buffet evenings. Head to Nicole’s for dinner which features a bar and also serves succulent steaks and lobster. There is also the Beach Bar & Grill, the Wadadli Snack Shack, and the rustic Rasta Bar. or you can enjoy evening entertainment at the pool bar. The Lazy Pelican Beach Bar serves soft drinks, tropical juices, cold beer and not forgetting rum punch.
The accommodation at The Verandah is spacious and classic. The single-story suites are dotted around the resort, and each one has a queen-size sofa bed which is perfect for those travelling with families. The Hillside Suites overlook the resort gardens and the Water View Suites are nearer the sea with garden and partial ocean views. There are also exclusive Water View Spa Suites which have three bespoke spa treatments per room from an extensive treatment menu from Tranquillity Body & Soul Spa, you will also receive one dinner for two at Nicole’s. The Waterfront Suites are perfectly placed on the hillside with stunning views of the ocean.
The resort also has a children’s club to help keep the little ones occupied and is available for children aged 2 and over. The children will enjoy games and activities in the indoor area or outside in the adventure playground, play in the splash pool or take part in nature trails, art activities, and much more. Teenagers can enjoy their own range of games and social events including Karaoke, Mini Gold, games area, and disco.
Out of the resort
For those wanting to venture outside of the resort, there is so much to see and do. Head to Devil Bridge National Park and view the dramatic arches and cliffs produced by the Atlantic waves over the years. Head to Willikies, a colourful village full of restaurants, bars, and lovely beaches.
